Acne Treatment-Cryotherapy

If you suffer from frequent acne, and your physician has been unable to make any headway in treating it, then you may very likely get sent to a dermatologist for more aggressive treatment. Most dermatologists will tell you that they have never met a case of acne that they couldn’t cure, given time, and a willing patient. If you suffer from acne, it can be hard to be patient; you want it to go away now, not two months from now, but unfortunately treatment rarely happens overnight.

No matter how much money you spend on miracle over the counter products that promise to make your acne disappear overnight while you sleep, the reality is that they rarely do the job. You spend money on something hoping against hope it can give you the results it claims, only to wake up disappointed the next morning. Treating even the milder forms of acne can take up to eight weeks, and that is with prescription medicines. If you start seeing progress, and decide to stop treatment, you will likely have to start all over again, so once you find a treatment that works well for you, you will have to keep using it. If you use one treatment for eight weeks, and don’t see any significant change, then you should talk to your doctor about other acne treatment options.

Just because one acne treatment worked great for your best friend, doesn’t mean that you will have the same good results if you use it too. It all depends on the type of acne you have, the underlying cause of your acne, and how it manifests itself.

To get the fastest, most effective treatment for your acne, you should seek the help of a dermatologist. They have dealt with acne enough to know how to determine the cause of your acne, and what acne treatment will likely give you the best results in the shortest amount of time. Many dermatologists will offer their patients cryotherapy to treat their acne problem. This method actually freezes acne pimples, similar to the freezing used in wart removal. It can cause your skin to peel, and occasionally will cause blisters and scabs. Cryotherapy is successfully used to treat acne, scars, and warts.

If you choose this as your acne treatment method, you will likely visit the dermatologist once a week for your acne treatment. Cryotherapy can be painful, but your dermatologist will probably give you a steroid cream to apply after the treatment, which will reduce pain, swelling, and redness.

During cryotherapy, the outer layer of skin is removed, taking acne pimples and scars along with it, leaving the patient with beautiful, clear skin. So, talk with your dermatologist to see if cryotherapy is the best acne treatment for you, and go for it! Chances are, you will be extremely glad you did, and happy to show your new clear complexion to the world. No more hiding your face behind layers of makeup and concealer, show it off!
