Acne Laser Treatment

More and more dermatologists are recommending their acne patients try laser acne treatment, to help them eliminate their problem once and for all. Out of all the skin disorders that exist in the world today, acne is by far the most prevalent, striking not only teenagers, but adults as well. Because of this, there are always studies and clinical trials being conducted trying to determine the best acne treatments. People who suffer from acne spend a lot of money each year trying to treat and hide their problem, and often feel as though no treatment will ever work for them, because they are looking for the magic pill that suddenly make their acne disappear, and unfortunately, there is no such thing, to date.

A major problem with acne is the fact that it often leaves ugly scars in its wake, and the scars are almost as if not more disturbing for the patient than the acne itself. Fortunately, laser treatment has been tested and proven to be a safe, effective way to treat acne and acne scars. A dermatologist can completely rid you of your acne scars with just a couple of laser treatments.

Laser acne treatments take about thirty minutes each time, so you don’t have to take a lot of time away from your busy schedule, as you would have to do for other treatment options. Some treatments may be painful, and you may experience some redness and inflammation, but not enough to prevent you from doing your normal activities. Some say that laser acne treatment works best when done several times for five minutes each time, but the exact time and technique used will be up to you, the patient, and your dermatologist.

The laser will be loaded with different colors depending upon the type of treatment needed. Overall, laser acne treatment kills any bacteria that may cause new breakouts from occurring, helps slow down the production of oil glands in the skin which can clog pores, leading to acne, and helps stimulate new skin to grow, which gets rid of the scars.

If you decide to undergo laser acne treatment, be certain you are getting it from someone who is certified to perform it, just to ensure your personal health and safety.

How often you go in for your laser acne treatment will depend on the severity of your case, sometimes you only need to go every month, and other times, you may need to go several times a month.

Laser acne treatment is usually only tried in teenagers when all other treatments have been unsuccessful, however, it is often the first treatment suggested for adults looking to stop their acne breakouts and get rid of scarring.

So, if you or a loved one suffers from acne or acne scars, you should take the time and do some research on laser acne treatment. It may be your miracle cure!
